Dr Akshay Hanamshetti

Dr. Hanamshetti is a highly trained orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon specializing in sports medicine surgeries, joint replacement surgeries, and complex trauma. With extensive experience across India, Korea, and the United States, he has trained under some of the world’s leading experts, refining his skills in advanced surgical techniques and evidence-based patient care. He completed two fellowships at Dr. L H Hiranandani Hospital, Powai, Mumbai—one in Joint Replacement and another in Sports Medicine. These fellowships provided him with extensive training in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement, arthroscopic ligament reconstruction, and cartilage repair techniques. To further expand his expertise, he pursued two additional fellowships in Seoul, Korea—one at Myongji Hospital, Hanyang University under Prof. Jin Goo Kim, and another at Konkuk Medical Center under Prof. Dhong Won Lee. These experiences strengthened his skills in complex knee and shoulder surgeries, multi-ligament reconstructions, and advanced trauma management. Dr. Hanamshetti then trained in the United States, completing a prestigious fellowship at Twin Cities Orthopedics, Minneapolis, Minnesota, under Prof. LaPrade. Here, he specialized in sports-related knee and shoulder injuries, cutting-edge arthroscopic procedures, and joint preservation techniques.
